New Principal Welcome Letter

Dear Bayside STEAM Academy Families,

It is with immense gratitude, excitement, and pride that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Bayside STEAM Academy. I am truly honored to join this exceptional school community and look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff as we begin an exciting new school year together.

This year marks my 24th year serving the South Bay Union School District, and I feel incredibly fortunate to continue my journey in a district that has always been home. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including 18 years as a classroom teacher, 2 years as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), and the past 3 years as the Assistant Principal at Nestor Language Academy Charter School. Each of these experiences has reinforced my belief that every child deserves a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where they are inspired to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a proud South Bay educator, I have dedicated my entire career to serving the students and families of this community. I understand the importance of building strong relationships, celebrating our diverse cultures, and creating a school where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.

At Bayside STEAM Academy, we will continue to build upon the strong foundation already in place while embracing opportunities for innovation and growth. Our talented staff is committed to providing rigorous, engaging instruction that fosters creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving through meaningful STEAM experiences. Together, we will cultivate curious learners, compassionate leaders, and confident problem-solvers who are prepared for success both in and beyond the classroom.

Equally important is our commitment to creating a school culture where every student feels a true sense of belonging. We will continue to emphasize kindness, responsibility, perseverance, and respect while encouraging students to take risks, ask questions, and discover their unique strengths.

I firmly believe that the strongest schools are built through meaningful partnerships between home and school. Your involvement, encouragement, and support play a vital role in your child's success. I encourage you to become an active part of our Bayside community by attending school events, volunteering, participating in parent organizations, and maintaining open communication with our staff. My door is always open, and I welcome your ideas, feedback, and collaboration.

As we begin this new chapter together, I am filled with optimism for all that we will accomplish as one Bayside family. I am excited to meet each of you, celebrate our students' successes, and work alongside our dedicated staff to provide an exceptional educational experience for every child.
