Dear Bayside STEAM Academy Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! My name is Kyle Griffith, and I am honored to return for my second year as principal of Bayside STEAM Academy. It has been a privilege to serve this incredible school community, and I am even more excited about the opportunities this year holds for our students, staff, and families.

At Bayside STEAM Academy, we are deeply committed to providing a world-class education that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through our integrated STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum. This year, we will continue to build upon the strong foundation we've laid and offer even more exciting hands-on learning experiences for students that will allow them to explore these subjects in real-world contexts. From collaborative projects to innovative design challenges, our goal is to ensure that every student is empowered to think critically, collaborate effectively, and innovate boldly.

One of the most exciting developments this year is our expanded efforts to integrate STEAM across all subjects. Whether it's applying math and engineering concepts in a science experiment, creating digital art for a history project, or exploring environmental sustainability through technology, our students will experience a curriculum that is engaging, relevant, and interconnected. This interdisciplinary approach allows our students to see the connections between their studies and the world around them, preparing them for success in an increasingly complex and dynamic future.

As we continue to grow and evolve, we also recognize that our school community is at its best when families are involved and engaged in their child's education. We encourage you to take an active role in your child’s learning by volunteering, attending PTA meetings, and participating in school events. Your involvement makes a real difference, not only in the success of your own child but in the strength of our entire school community. Whether you are helping in the classroom, organizing school events, or simply sharing your feedback, we welcome your partnership and value your contributions.

To help ensure a successful school year, we ask that you support your child in the following ways:

• Ensure your child arrives at school on time each day.
• Read with your child regularly to reinforce literacy skills and foster a love of reading.
• Get involved with our school community: Become a classroom volunteer, join the PTA, attend conferences, or participate in our School Site Council (SSC).

I am excited to work alongside you as we continue to build a school that inspires our students to reach their fullest potential.
